Acupuncture
Acupuncture is the insertion of fine, hair thin needles into certain points (acupoints) on the body to stimulate Qi thereby helping to restore the normal balance and flow of Qi so that the body is balanced and can operate efficiently. These insertions are said to clear any residing blockages, or dams, thus freeing the river to better feed the body in its entirety. Thus the free flow of Qi is re-established and the body is harmoniously balanced. As the body is guided back into harmony, symptoms resolve naturally. As early as your first treatment, you can feel an increased sense of well-being, harmony, and balance.
A series of 5-10 treatments may provide relief care for some problems, but often chronic and degenerative conditions may require many treatments overtime. Since every person is unique in their own condition, the numbers of treatments will vary. The nature, severity and history of each patient's problem, as well as the individual himself or herself, are all factors that are involved in how many treatments will be necessary.
Acupuncture will not conflict with any of your medications. Acupuncture is used to complement and supplement your physician's treatments not to replace them.
Chinese Herbs

Chinese Herbs are even more complex but do the same things as the acupuncture needles, balance and harmonize Qi. Chinese Herbs balance from the inside out not from the outside in like Acupuncture. Acupuncture and herbs work synergistically to treat the causes of these imbalances while they improve your overall health.
We use the highest quality herbs available and compose individualized formulas for our patients. Chinese herbs are available in two forms here at Apple Valley Wellness Center which include: granule and patent. Granule herbs can be customized to meet an individual’s specific diagnostic needs. Patent herbs are in pill form: they are very convenient and work well for milder, less complicated disorders. We match you to the herbs with granules, and the herbs to you with patents.
Herbs are pharmacological agents, so interactions can take place: therefore, as with any pharmacological agent, great care and scrutiny are required by all practitioners for the safety of their patients. It is equally important that the patient communicate all medications, vitamins, or herbal supplements they are currently taking to the practitioner. You should discuss this issue with your physician and acupuncturist.
.
Chinese Herbal Medicine has been used as front line medicine by the majority of the world’s population since before recorded history, and is still the most widely utilized medical system in the world today. Adverse reactions to Chinese herbs are extremely rare and are negligible when compared to those commonly produced by pharmaceutical drugs.
